Facebook is without doubt the worst platform for customer care – period! Having been hacked recently, you’d think that Facebook would provide ways for you to resolve this matter both quaickly and efficiently. Not so. In fact they seem to go out of their way to do the complete opposite and in so doing, provide hackers with a safe haven for doing…Read More

If you’ve read any of my articles you’ll know that I have a love / hate relationship with On1 PhotoRAW. Currently I have two problems with this editor, firstly is that it’s developers think that JUST ENOUGH is good enough – more on this later and the second is that they have recently “tinkered” with the structure of the product seperating out some…Read More

My copy of World Photogray edited by Bryn Campbell arrived a few days ago. If you are serious about photography this is a must read book rammed full of the stories of some of the most prominent photographers of recent times. I’ve seen some eye watering prices quoted for this book but mine was £10 on Ebay. Keep your eyes peeled and grab a bargain…Read More

I’m looking to buy a Lomography 35mm Negative Mask on Ebay so, as you do, I’ve been wandering around looking at what else catches my eye. I alighted on a listing for the Diana F+ 35mm/medium format (toy) camera also currently available to buy, current price just £21. Now, I don’t need a toy camera, nor do I need another 35mm camera as I have two…Read More

It’s been a while since I last posted, primarily because of the various lockdowns we’ve all been facing over almost the last 12 months now!! Like everyone else, visits to the outside world have been limited to the odd walk, camera in hand I might add, but the good new is, Amazon still delivers!! New stuff purchased in that 12 months has been…Read More

Well, paralysed by the recent offerings from Nikon, Fuji and Canon, I decided to go old school and back to basics by buying the Fujifilm x-t1 complete with the 18-55 f2.8-4 lens. What I hear you say!! Well, bear with me, there are reasons behind this apparent madness. First, and not least, many pro photographers still talk about the Fuji x-t1 with…Read More

I have 3 cameras (plus the Huwaei P20 Pro which has a pretty mean camera and camera app) so I am well armed and capable of doing real damage out in the wild. My cameras are nothing startling, a Nikon D600 with a small array of Nikkor lenses, the Panasonic Lumix GX-85, which I use a lot for street / candid and the Canon G7X ii which is so portable…Read More

It’s annoying when a website doesn’t work as expected. I noticed today that Cyberlink (througha payment partner) had taken £79 for subscription renewal of their Cyberlink 365 software suite. Now, I used this package last about 2 years ago and last year was hit with the subscription fee although I decided that I might well use it in 2019/20 so…Read More

It’s amazing what youcan find simply by keeping your eyes open. I was attending a muscle car photo shoot here in torquay Sunday evening when I spotted a bunch of kids doing moto x on a disused field close to where I was working. These lads, probably 15 – 19 years old, where polite and welcoming when I approached them to do a few shots. All in all…Read More

Yesterday was heavy on the knees and hip as I took a 10km stroll up the Dart Gorge from New Bridge stopping at Sharrah Falls to capture, what we hoped would be, a constant deluge of canoeists riding some of the highest waters so far this year. As it turned out we spotted just 3 canoeists in the 3 hours we are camped out with a forth being spotted…Read More

So, the FujiFilm X-T4 specifications have just been released and this looks to be one hell of a camera. The X-T4 uses the back-illuminated 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and a high-speed image processing engine, the X-Processor 4.
IBIS provides 5-axis 6.5 stop image stabilisation when used with 18 out of 29 XF / XC lenses. It offers many new…Read More

What’s not to like with this camera. It ticks so many boxes from street to sports and I’m pretty sure it’ll do everything else in between. I don’t know much about the lens options but both are pro options at f4 so should make the most of the camera sensor specs. Love to get my hands on one of these to try it out.

While the Canon EOS R5 is without doubt, the camera to aspire to, the EOS R6 is likely to appeal to a far greater number of photographers especially if Canon can keep the price point affordable for the masses. Very little information exists on the EOS R6 at the moment but what is emerging is very exciting. When we get more information we will…Read More
