A recent visit to Monaco left me with one image I really loved, a favourite photo of Monaco
You are going to probably think I am on drugs or at the very least, under mdical supervision when you see this photograph.
Having spent a long day in Monaco recently there were indeed some amazing photographs to be had. The hugely popular square outside of the world famous Monte Carlo Casino for example, the mega yachts dotting the harbourside, the roads currently being prepared for the Monaco Grand Prix, complete with ugly fencing and even uglier spectator seating plus of course the architecture, cars and shops synonymous with the rich and famous.
That all being said, Monaco is not what it was. I can only assume that in it’s heyday’s of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s it was the place to visit. Now, and to me at least, it’s all fur coat and no knickers, a long way from the panache and opulence that I am sure once existed.
That’s not to say we didn’t have a good time there. It’s eye opening to see how others live even if it feels like it’s all for show. We did however enjoy a good lunch of tachos etc on what will be the race track which will add a little spice to watching the Grand Prix later this year on television.
So, what about my favourite photo? Well, as I’ve mentioned above there were some great opportunities for photos but none caught my eye like this one. Bright vibrant colours, sparkling water and a message that simply shouts Monaco. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.
